Tweets for Today

  • 12:09 Sunday. Noon. Preparing to tackle the Room of Doom. Will Tweet and Plurk it. Photos at Flickr. #
  • 12:24 Oh, the irony! Tweeting because Plurk is down! #
  • 12:46 One hour in, still pre-organizing, and eating lunch. This project will require... beer, for fortitude! Starting on Guinness #1 at 12:45pm. #
  • 12:47 Burning CD-Roms for school use. #
  • 12:58 12:55pm -- Guinness #2... for strength & inspiration. Preparing file folders, which means removing junk from file cabinet. #
  • 13:35 Working lunch: burning CD-ROMs and prepping file folders... you know, putting together the little plastic lable thingies? Pouring Guinness 3 #
  • 14:13 Working, but large, CRT monitor & working, but large & cheap CD boombox: what to do? Yard sale not likely, so... toss 'em! #
  • 14:41 I find myself emotionally attached to battered cardboard boxes. They remind him of stuff that was in them, people I got 'em from.... #
  • 15:27 Room of Doom update: at 3:15pm depression born of futility is beginning to hit... hard! #
  • 16:35 Sorting boxes of papers should be fast, but it's not. What if I just pitched 'em all? I mean, they were buried anyway, right....? #
  • 18:17 Do I need to keep as much of the paper stuff that I'm keeping? Oh well, limited time, rough sort will have to do for now. #
  • 19:06 7:05pm supper time, then sort thru one more box, then put it all away. #
  • 20:41 Is the disgraceful clutter the cause of my sense of powerlessness & hopelessness, or a symptom of it? #
  • 20:41 Nearly 8 hours, and no visible difference in The Room of Doom. #

Doing one box a day
will clear the doom away.

... or will it win ... ???

As long as I can avoid adding 1.5 boxes a day, it should work!

Difficult the first day.
You take out 1 box, split the content over 4 new boxes (and the bin)
Net gain is -3.
But some six days later you are even and from that point on your gain becomes positive.
