Tata Nano

This New York Times article neglects to mention that, in addition to being inexpensive (less than $3,000.00), the Tata Nano car achieves a fuel economy of about 50 miles per gallon.

Obviously they'll never sell them here.

(And I don't want to hear any whining about "safety." The safest thing the US Department of Transportation could do would be to outlaw SUVs and so-called "mini" vans... and require us all to drive Nanos and smartcars.)

A BBC News Nano article.

India's Tata Motors, manufacturer of the Nano, is in the running to buy Jaguar, by the way.
