The house three doors up the street from where I live is for sale.
1100 sq. ft.
4 br, 2ba (how they squeeze 4 bedrooms and 2 baths into 1100 sq ft I don't know)
I wonder how much mine would sell for. I mean, realistically sell, not "astronomical pie-in-the-sky wishful thinking." Because it's becoming difficult to afford to live here.
Along those lines, where is the least expensive place to live in the country? Lowest cost-of-living, lowest property prices, lowest taxes and insurance? Are there any places where it's still possible to get a dumpy little house (not a mobile home -- I have my limits) on a few acres (which would be awesome) for less than $100k?
EXTRA! EXTRA! THIS JUST IN!
Turns out you can be my neighbor for less than a million bucks! This one's half-a-duplex, kinda like mine, only larger. This place is half a block in the opposite direction from the one above. (I love the way they parked a limo and a BMW in the driveway for the photo. The other side of the duplex -- for sale by owner, as it happens -- is cluttered up with old cars and rusty dune buggy and motorcycle parts).
See ya on the beach!
