Endless Clutter

I'm feeling stymied in my de-cluttering attempt. All day I've been working on boxes of books. I thinned out about 3 boxes, but the remaining pile appears as large as what I started with. And now they're more disorganized than ever. Also, I can't find a few books I know I have, which means there are more hiding somewhere!

Ah, I sympathise with you! I know exactly how that feels, cause I'm *still* going through that, with the shuffle.

Hope you find the ones you're missing!

It sounds like a deja-vu to me.
I had a series of books, four volumes in total. And a fifth volume comes out. So obviously I buy it. And then I start looking -not intensively- for the earlier volumes. Months later I find them and by the time I re-read them ... I can't find the fifth volume anymore.

What I need is a multi-dimentional storage system with an infalible multidemntional indexing system. *sigh*

Unasked-for suggestion
Now, it's time to weed out the ones you can check out of a library . . . ditto with college textbooks that are more than 20 years old (photocopy any favorite tables/chapters first . . .I did this with cookbooks that I kept around, even though I only used one recipe . . .)
