The Know-It-All

René Descartes walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Yo, René, how you doing? Can I get you a beer?"

"I think not," replies Descartes. And then he disappears.

I just finished reading The Know-It-All by A. J. Jacobs.

LAUGH OUT LOUD HILARIOUS!

Well, maybe not all the way through. Entertaining and amusing throughout, definitely. And at one point, literally, I laughed 'til I had tears in my eyes.

"He studied me, no doubt wondering when Mensa began accepting people who spent their childhood eating lead paint."

Yes, I'm aware that quotation marks are superfluous when using a block quote. But it looks better with quote marks. Which makes it okay, according to the DSG:YLDHS (Dave's Style Guide: Yeah, Like Dave Has Style).

Anyway, the Jacobs book is funny. Way funnier than I am. Read it.

(There ya go, Lisa!)

(And thanx, Mr. D. B., for reminding me about this literary gem!)
