I have so much stuff I want to vent about. But I don't have time right now. I'm in the process of disassembling 33 flashlights I purchased at Wal-Mart in order to conduct (ha!) a 4th-grade lesson on electrical circuits. I just finished cutting 66 strips of 16-guage copper wire and stripping the ends (that's 132 ends). I'm putting together 33 plastic Ziplock® bags with a bulb, 2 batteries, 2 lengths of wire, and 4 rubber bands. I still need to type up the instructions/worksheet and print 66 copies.

I figured some masking tape would come in useful. That paper tape stuff is still called "masking tape," isn't it? The guy at the home improvement center, when I asked for "masking tape," led me to the clear plastic strapping tape.

Anyway, since when did masking tape become more valuable than gold? I was expecting to pay, y'know, sixty or seventy cents a roll. At Wal-Mart the least expensive brand was @2.39 a roll. The hardware store, once I found the stuff, after explaining, "you know, the paper kind of tape," had it for $1.19.

Anyway, more rantage later.
