I set up a quick PowerPoint presentation to go along with it. Into this PowerPoint slideshow I managed to include: Jack Webb as Sgt. Joe Friday; the devil; Zorro; Ghostbusters (very pertinent, this reference); B. F. Skinner; the alien Exeter from This Island Earth; and Canadian speller Leslie Newcombe.
I can't say I had 'em rolling in the aisles (or "isles," this being Hawaii and all), but the expressions of vacant-eyed astonishment were even better than mere amusement.
I am obviously very tired. I need to get up early so I can change the tyre on my car before going to work. After work, I shall have to purchase a new tyre for my car.
Do Canadians spell "tire" as "tyre," or is it a Britain-only thing? I experienced a flat tyre in Britain once, due to an encounter with a curb at a roundabout. Having it repaired was one of the more interesting "local colour" highlights of the trip.
I can't believe it's only Monday.
